The Electrical Certificate of Compliance (ECOC) confirms that a property's electrical system meets safety standards and regulations. It covers the installation, distribution boards, wiring, earthing system, fixed appliance circuits, equipment positioning, safety, and earth leakage testing, ensuring compliance with SANS 10142-1

The Electrical Certificate of Compliance (ECoC) ensures a property's electrical system meets safety standards. It covers wiring, distribution boards, outlets, and earth leakage systems, and is valid for two years. A registered electrician issues it, and it's needed for property transfers.


Purpose:

  • Compliance certificates serve as proof that something (products, services, processes, etc.) adheres to regulations, standards, or industry best practices.
